APGA and Sierra Club Continue Opposition to DOE LNG Export Applications

Earlier this week the American Public Gas Association (APGA), a non-profit association of publicly-owned U.S. natural gas distribution companies, and Sierra Club filed protests at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in opposition to applications filed by CE FLNG, LLC, Excelerate Liquefaction Solutions, LLC, and Golden Pass Products LLC to export LNG to nations without a Free Trade Agreement with the United States. The protestors cite the potential for higher domestic natural gas prices as well as insufficient environmental and economic support for LNG exports. The protests can be found on DOE’s website under Docket Nos. 12-123-LNG (CE FLNG), 12-146-LNG (Excelerate), and 12-156-LNG (Golden Pass).
