American Public Gas Association Opposes New LNG Export Bill

The American Public Gas Association (APGA), a trade organization representing America’s publicly owned natural gas local distribution companies, sent letters yesterday to U.S. Senators Inhofe (R-OK), Barasso (R-WY) and Cornyn (R-TX) urging the Senators to withdraw the “Expedited LNG for American Allies Act of 2013,” introduced by those Senators last week. APGA argues that the legislation will increase gas prices to domestic consumers, stifle a resurgence in manufacturing, and will not guarantee that gas exported from the U.S. will actually be sold to U.S. allies.
