Land Zoning Change Could Affect Pipeline Associated with Bradwood Landing LNG

The Clatsop County Planning Commission will convene a hearing on June 9 to address a zone change application for a parcel of land that a natural gas pipeline associated with the Bradwood Landing LNG import terminal is currently planned to traverse. The change sought would change the parcel’s zoning from open space, parks, and recreation to lake and wetland. However, the Daily Astorian reports that Bradwood Landing opponents believe this change is  being  sought only  to allow the  pipeline to be constructed, effectively circumventing a referendum that banned natural gas pipelines from crossing park-zoned property last fall.
