WGL Seeks Stay in Cove Point LNG Terminal Expansion Proceeding

Washington Gas Light Company (WGL) last week filed an emergency motion to stay the effectiveness of FERC’s previous orders authorizing the Cove Point LNG Expansion project, once again expressing concerns regarding the ability of its distribution system to accept regasified LNG. The motion requests in the alternative that the Commission modify its previous orders and limit physical delivery of regasified LNG at the interconnect between the Cove Point Pipeline and Columbia Gas Transmission pipeline  in Loudon, Va. WGL’s motion is available in FERC’s eLibrary under Docket No. CP05-130. In addition, yesterday FERC ordered that answers to this motion be filed by February 23, 2009.
