Opponents to Jordan Cove LNG Project File Brief with LUBA

The Southern Oregon Pipeline Information Project filed a brief in support of its appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA) of Jordan Cove LNG’s land-use application. The land-use application submitted by Jordan Cove LNG was approved in December 2007 by the Coos County Commissioners. According to the Coos Bay World (Ore.), the brief argues that the county did not give enough attention to incursions on existing wetlands or with regard to Indian artifacts in or near the construction site, and should have required that the natural gas pipeline proposed for the project be approved before construction of the LNG terminal commences.
