Local Opponents File Appeal of Jordan Cove LNG Decision

In the wake of the approval of Jordan Cove LNG’s land use application, opponents of the project have filed a notice of intent to appeal with the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA). Coos Bay World (Ore.) reports that Coos County must provide its record of decision to LUBA by January 16, 2008. Jordan Cove LNG project manager Bob Braddock said he expects the LUBA decision to be announced before FERC’s decision is made public this summer.

Additionally, KCBY News reports that on Wednesday the Coos Bay County Board of Commissioners approved the application for a ship berth that would accommodate LNG vessels, and that this decision is also eligible for appeal to LUBA within 21 days.
