Local Democratic Committee Votes to Oppose Jordan Cove LNG Project

The Coos Bay World (Ore.) reports that the Coos County Democratic Central Committee voted recently to oppose the proposed Jordan Cove LNG regasification project. The Committee cited inadequate FERC review of demand for natural gas and possible commercial and environmental harm as reasons for its opposition, and claimed that the terminal would not help Oregon meet its goal of generating 25% of its energy from renewable sources by 2025. According to the World, the Committee called on Democratic Governor Ted Kulongoski and other elected officials to oppose the project.
