Maine Environmental Panel Denies Downeast LNG’s Bid to Withdraw and Resubmit Application

Maine’s Board of Environmental Protection voted 5-3 to deny Downeast LNG’s request to withdraw and resubmit its application to build an LNG regasification terminal on Passamaquoddy Bay. Downeast LNG had planned to include supplemental information upon resubmission, although Downeast LNG president Dean Girdis maintains that the company believes “that our applications are thorough and complete.” Read more in the Portland Press Herald (Maine; from Associated Press).
