FERC market analysts predict that LNG imports will continue their record-breaking pace through the summer, though FERC suggests that European and other markets may lure away LNG shipments during the winter. According to comments by Stephen Harvey, FERC’s deputy director of market oversight, Europe has less storage capacity than the United States, creating upward price pressure during Europe’s winter heating season.
