Esperanza Reveals Plans for Offshore LNG Terminal

The Press Telegram reports that Esperanza Energy, a subsidiary of Tidelands Oil & Gas Corp., may seek approval soon to construct an LNG terminal offshore Long Beach, California. Esperanza’s plans follow a recent decision by the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners to halt the environmental review of an onshore facility proposed by Sound Energy Solutions for the Port of Long Beach. Port Esperanza would be located 10 miles from the nearest coastline, which may help alleviate public safety concerns. “We feel this is the most advanced, environmentally responsible, safe project being proposed,” said Esperanza’s vice president, Terry Mitchell.
