Long Island Politician Discusses Broadwater LNG Project With Gov. Spitzer

Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy yesterday reiterated his opposition to Broadwater Energy’s proposed LNG terminal in Long Island Sound during a meeting with New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, who has yet to endorse the project. “He listened intently and said he was looking to do an overall, comprehensive review of the area’s energy needs before he comes to a decision,” Levy said after the meeting. According to Newsday, Levy intends to take legal measures to block development of the terminal even if Spitzer supports the project.
