Appellate Court Rejects Petition by Weaver’s Cove Opponents

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit yesterday denied a petition, filed by opponents of the Weaver’s Cove LNG project, to compel the U.S. Department of Transportation to issue regulations for the safe siting of LNG terminals. The court indicated in its opinion that an appeal of DOT’s final action on a rulemaking petition would be more appropriate than the petition at hand. Today’s Herald News has local coverage.
