Pacific Northern Gas and Kitimat LNG Partner to Build Pipeline

Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. has partnered with Kitimat LNG Inc. to construct a $1.2-billion, 290-mile pipeline that will transport natural gas from the proposed Kitimat LNG terminal to Summit Lake, British Columbia, where it will interconnect with the Duke Energy pipeline system.  While a spokesperson for Pacific Northern Gas characterized the search for long-term gas supplies for the pipeline as “a difficult process,” Kitimat LNG president Rosemary Boulton commented, “We hope to have a memorandum of understanding with a potential supplier by the end of the first quarter of 2007.”  Read more in today’s Globe and Mail.
