Long Island Task Force Issues Interim Report

An AP article in The Day reports that the Long Island LNG Task Force appointed by Gov. M. Jodi Rell has released its report on the proposed Broadwater LNG facility.  According to the article, the report criticizes the Broadwater proposal for ignoring the public costs of safety and security required by such a facility.  The report also asserts that there is no proven market for the gas supply proposed to be imported by Broadwater.  Nonetheless, the Task Force’s co-chair, State Senator Len Fasano, said that he believes the report is “open-minded.”
