Fall River Continues Fight Against Weaver’s Cove

At a rally yesterday, local and state officials from Massachusetts and Rhode Island continued to challenge the Weaver’s Cove LNG terminal, proposed by Hess LNG for Fall River.  Mayor Lambert encouraged the approximately 200 supporters to maintain a firm commitment to “fight it every day.”  Rhode Island State Rep. Raymond Gallison encouraged attendees to boycott Hess gas stations in the area, while Mass. State Representative Michael Rodrigues urged people to support alternative energy infrastructure proposals, such as AES’ Battery Rock LNG proposal on Outer Brewster Island or the wind farm off Cape Cod.  Today’s Herald News has the complete story.
