FERC Issues Project Update for Port Arthur LNG Export Terminal

FERC has released an update on its review of draft environmental reports submitted by Port Arthur LNG for its proposed liquefaction and LNG export terminal at Port Arthur, Texas and interconnected pipeline.  FERC Staff is reviewing the reports and will provide comments to Port Arthur LNG in response.  Port Arthur LNG will incorporate FERC’s comments in the environmental report submitted with its formal application for the project, anticipated to be filed June 2016.  FERC then will prepare a draft environmental impact statement for the project, which will be made available for public comment....

Cheniere Affiliate to File in March 2016 FERC Application for Corpus Christi Trains 3 and 4

Cheniere Energy affiliate Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) filed a status report with FERC indicating that it plans to file a formal application with FERC in March 2016 for authority to construct its Stage 3 expansion project.  The Stage 3 project facilities, to be constructed at CCL’s LNG export terminal under construction at Corpus Christi, Texas, consist of liquefaction Trains 3 and 4, which together can produce approximately 9 million metric tons/year, an LNG storage tank, and interconnected pipeline facilities.    ...

FERC Releases Environmental Assessment for Cameron LNG Trains 5 and 6

FERC has released its Environmental Assessment Report (EA) for Cameron LNG’s proposal to construct two additional liquefaction trains, Trains 5 and 6, at its LNG export terminal under construction near Hackberry, La. The EA concludes that, with recommended mitigation measures, construction of the project would not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment. Draft Environmental Report Issued for Pacific NorthWest LNG Project

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency has released a draft environmental assessment for the Petronas-sponsored Pacific NorthWest LNG liquefaction and export terminal near Lelu Island, British Columbia.  The report concludes that the Project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects, taking into account the implementation of the recommended mitigation measures, on the harbour porpoise and as a result of greenhouse gas emissions.  The Agency concludes that the Project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects on “all other valued components”...

Bear Head LNG and Pieridae Energy Each Receive Authority to Export LNG Produced from U.S. Gas

Bear Head LNG and Pieridae Energy each announced that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has granted them separate authority to export as LNG gas imported from the United States to each company’s proposed liquefaction and LNG export terminal in Nova Scotia, Canada.  DOE’s orders authorize Bear Head LNG and Pieridae Energy to export the LNG produced from gas imported into Canada from the United States via pipeline to countries that do not have a Free Trade Agreement with the United States.  Bear Head LNG’s proposed facility is in Richmond County near Point Tupper, Nova Scotia.  Pieridae...

Venture Global LNG Announces Purchase Deal with Shell NA LNG

Venture Global LNG, Inc. announced that its subsidiary, Venture Global Calcasieu Pass, LLC (Venture Global Calcasieu Pass), has entered into a 20-year sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with Shell NA LNG LLC (Shell), under which Shell has agreed to purchase one million tonnes per annum of LNG from Venture Global Calcasieu Pass’s proposed LNG export facility on the Calcasieu Ship Channel in Cameron Parish, La.  According to the press release, Shell will purchase the LNG on a free on board basis (FOB) at a Henry Hub-linked purchase price plus a facility fee indexed to inflation....
