Platts reports that a cargo of LNG has left Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Cameron Parish, La., and is headed to Spain. This is the second shipment of U.S. LNG to Europe, where the LNG will compete with Algerian pipeline gas supplies in Spain and Portugal. The Alaska Journal of Commerce reports that new Alaska Gasline Development Corp. (AGDC) President and CEO Keith Meyer presented a plan to Alaska’s joint House-Senate Resources Committee to overhaul the financial structure of the proposed Alaska LNG Project. The plan would allow the state to lead the project with other outside investors, “but still depend on the producers selling their shares of natural gas from the Prudhoe Bay and Point Thomson fields into the project.” AGDC represents Alaska’s 25% stake in the project, which includes an 800-mile pipeline to access North Slope gas supplies...

Reuters reports that the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) has resumed its review of the proposed Pacific NorthWest LNG (PNWLNG) project near Lelu Island, British Columbia. Malaysian state oil company Petronas is the primary sponsor of the PNWLNG project. The CEAA review process was paused in March to permit CEAA to obtain more information about the proposal from PNWLNG. According to the report, CEAA now has three months to complete its review. ...

Dominion Cove Point LNG has filed a report with FERC covering construction progress at its liquefaction and LNG export terminal at Lusby, Md. through May 2016. The report states that engineering is 99.8% complete, engineered equipment procurement is 99% complete, and construction is 38% complete.

KTOO reports that Alaska Governor Bill Walker’s administration is considering increasing Alaska’s stake in the Alaska LNG Project or taking over ownership completely. Currently, the state owns 25% of the project through the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation.
