FERC has released an update on its pre-filing environmental review of Venture Global Plaquemines LNG’s (Plaquemines LNG) application to construct a liquefaction and export terminal on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Plaquemines Parish, La. and the Gator Express Pipeline interconnected pipeline. FERC is currently reviewing the draft resource reports and consulting with interested stakeholders. The next step is for Plaquemines LNG and Gator Express Pipeline to submit their formal application to FERC, after which FERC will conduct its environmental analysis of the proposed project....

FERC has issued a notice of its intent to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the proposed Driftwood LNG liquefaction and export terminal and interconnected pipeline in Calcasieu, Jefferson Davis, Acadia, and Evangeline Parishes, La. Comments on the scope of the EIS are due November 4, 2016.

CBC News reports that the Canadian federal government has approved Petronas’s proposed Pacific NorthWest LNG export terminal near Prince Rupert, British Columbia with 190 legally binding conditions. According to the report, majority sponsor Malaysian state oil company Petronas “initially said it would proceed with the project if the federal government gave its approval, but now the company says it will conduct a ‘total review’ of the project before making a final investment decision.”...
