First Nations and Environmental Group Challenge Pacific NorthWest LNG Decision in Court

FERC Requests Proposed Brownsville Area LNG Projects to Assess Failed Rocket Launch Impacts

FERC has sent letters to Annova LNG, Rio Grande LNG, LLC, and Texas LNG Brownsville, LLC, stating that their proposals to construct LNG export terminal facilities near Brownsville, Texas “involve[] possible siting concerns posed from potential failed rocket launches from the nearby Space Exploration Technologies Corporation’s launch site at Boca Chica Village.”  FERC requested the companies provide additional information regarding this issue and that they “retain or utilize a third-party organization with expertise in space launch safety analyses for [their projects] to better assist in the...

FERC Issues Notice to Proceed With Elba Island Dock Facilities

FERC has issued a notice to proceed to Elba Liquefaction Company, L.L.C. and Southern LNG Company, L.L.C. to begin work related to the South Channel Barge Dock construction, including dredging and in-water pile driving, at the Elba Island LNG export terminal in Savannah, Ga.

FERC Releases Update on Eagle LNG Partners Jacksonville Project

FERC has released an update on its pre-filing environmental review of Eagle LNG Partners Jacksonville LLC’s (Eagle) proposed liquefaction and LNG export terminal at Jacksonville, Fla.  According to the update, FERC is currently reviewing draft Resource Reports submitted for the project by Eagle and will provide comments on them to Eagle.  Eagle will incorporate the comments in the Resource Reports it submits with a formal application for the project, which is expected to be filed by the end of 2016.  ...

DOE Releases LNG Export Data for August 2016

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has released data on U.S. LNG exports for August 2016.  The report shows that nine cargoes of domestically produced LNG were shipped from the Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Cameron Parish, La. at prices ranging from $4.23 to $5.32/MMBtu; three cargoes went to Chile, two to Brazil, and one each to Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and India.  In addition, four cargoes of domestically produced LNG were shipped in ISO containers from Miami, Fla. to Barbados at $10.00/MMBtu.  ...

Pieridae Energy to Make FID on Goldboro LNG Terminal by Year’s End

The Guysborough Journal reports that Pieridae Energy has confirmed that it intends to make a final investment decision (FID) on its proposed $8 billion Goldboro LNG export terminal in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia by the end of 2016.  According to the article, Pieridae Energy signed in 2013 a 20-year LNG purchase agreement with Europe’s E.ON Global Commodities SE.
