Editorial: Broadwater WSR Addresses Safety, But Other Issues Linger

In an editorial published yesterday, Newsday says that the U.S. Coast Guard’s Waterway Suitability Report “puts to rest the wildest fears” regarding possible incidents involving the proposed Broadwater LNG terminal. As a result of the Coast Guard’s identification of legitimate safety and security issues, stakeholders now will be able to address the remaining legal, public policy, and economic issues surrounding the proposal, including how security of the facility should be handled and whether there is sufficient demand for natural gas.
