Tellurian Signs Agreement to Sell LNG to Petronet

The Economic Times reports that Tellurian Inc., sponsor of the proposed Driftwood LNG export terminal (Driftwood) in Calcasieu Parish, La., has signed an initial agreement (memorandum of understanding) to sell LNG to India’s Petronet LNG. According to the report, Tellurian will deliver the LNG to India at a price of $6/MMBtu, “signalling a much lower price than the ceiling for output from difficult fields in India.” Petronet’s agreement with Tellurian also contemplates an 18% stake in the Driftwood project for a reported $2.5 billion.
