Start-up of Elba Island Terminal Delayed
Platts reports that Kinder Morgan spokeswoman Katherine Hill said “startup of Elba has been delayed due to additional common commissioning issues that are systematically being addressed on the first of the 10 liquefaction units.” The Elba Island liquefaction and LNG export terminal, located near Savannah, Ga., is utilizing Shell’s Movable Modular Liquefaction System, and the “10 units being installed at Elba mark the first time this specific technology is being deployed in the US.” LNG production was expected to begin by the end of April and the in-service date had been targeted for May 1. A new expected start-up date was not provided.
