Crowley and Eagle LNG Constructing LNG Bunkering Terminal in Jacksonville

Crowley Maritime Corp. (Crowley) and Eagle LNG Partners (Eagle) announced that Eagle has begun construction of a new LNG bunkering facility on Crowley’s property at Jaxport’s Talleyrand Marine Terminal in Jacksonville, Fla. The facility will be an LNG fueling station to serve Crowley’s new Commitment Class, LNG-powered, combination container/Roll-on Roll-off ships, which are under construction and will be used for trade between the U.S. and Puerto Rico.  The Commitment Class ships will be “some of the world’s first to be powered by LNG” and are expected to begin service in the second half of 2017 and first half of 2018.
