CME Group and ICE Planning to Launch LNG Derivatives Products

CNBC reports that CME Group and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) both plan to launch LNG derivatives similar to internationally traded Brent and U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures. The CME Group and ICE benchmarks would be based on LNG shipments from the U.S. Gulf Coast, where Cheniere Energy operates the Sabine Pass LNG export terminal and other LNG export terminals are scheduled to open in the next few years.
