PHMSA Schedules Public Meeting on LNG Facility Regulations
The U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has announced a public LNG Workshop meeting to be held May 18-19, 2016, “to solicit input and obtain background information for the formulation of a future regulatory change to 49 CFR part 193, Liquefied Natural Gas Facilities: Federal Safety Standards.” PHMSA is co-sponsoring the meeting with the National Association of Pipeline Safety Representatives, and will also discuss the regulations for transporting LNG in commerce by rail, highway, and waterway. The workshop is intended “to bring federal and state regulators, emergency responders, NFPA 59A technical committee members, industry, and interested members of the public together to participate in shaping a future LNG rule.”
