Hawaii Governor Opposes LNG Imports

Pacific Business News reports that Hawaii Governor David Inge, speaking at a conference in Honolulu, stated that he has “reached the conclusion that Hawaii does not need LNG in our future…. It’s time to focus all of our efforts on renewables. We will oppose the building of LNG facilities.”  Governor Inge had previously expressed support for the importation of LNG only as a bridge towards integrating more renewable energy.  According to the article, Inge noted that Hawaii Gas already has access to a supply of natural gas.
