FERC Denies Rehearing of Order Authorizing Corpus Christi LNG Terminal

FERC has issued an order denying Sierra Club’s request for rehearing of FERC’s order granting authorization for construction of the Corpus Christi Liquefaction LNG import and export terminal in Corpus Christi Bay, San Patricio County, Texas, and an interconnected pipeline.  FERC rejected Sierra Club’s contention that its order violated the National Environmental Protection Act by, among other things, not analyzing the potential environmental impacts from increased natural gas production resulting from the project, and not adequately addressing other environmental issues related to the project.
