Hawaii Gas CEO Supports Bill Limiting LNG to Bridge Fuel

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports that Hawaii Gas CEO and President Alicia Moy supports House Bill 1286, now pending before Hawaii Governor David Ige, which would “ensure that liquefied natural gas is used only as a cost-effective transitional, limited-term replacement of petroleum for electricity generation and does not impede the development and use of other cost-effective renewable energy sources.”  Moy stated that Hawaii Gas was flexible as to state energy policy.
