FERC Approves Rio Grande LNG’s Request to Initiate Pre-Filing Procedures

Yesterday, FERC issued an order approving Rio Grande LNG, LLC’s (RGLNG) request that FERC initiate the pre-filing environmental review process for RGLNG’s proposal to construct a natural gas liquefaction and LNG export terminal facility in Cameron County, Texas, along the north embankment of the Brownsville Ship Channel.  The facility would have an LNG production capacity of approximately 3.6 Bcf/day and would receive gas from the proposed Rio Bravo Pipeline, which would have a capacity of up to 4.5 Bcf/day.  FERC’s order can be found here, and the complete docket for the RGLNG proposal can be found on eLibrary under Docket No. PF15-20.
