Excelerate Requests that FERC Delay Consideration of Lavaca Bay LNG Project

Excelerate Liquefaction Solutions (Excelerate) has filed a motion requesting that FERC hold Excelerate’s Lavaca Bay LNG Export Project (Project) application in abeyance until April 1, 2015.  Excelerate states that “[r]ecent global economic conditions—including, among other things, a steep decrease in the price of oil—have created uncertainty regarding the economics of the Project,” and therefore Excelerate has determined to place the Project on hold pending a change in circumstances.  The proposed Project consists of floating liquefaction storage and offloading units (FLSOs) for an LNG export terminal at the Port of Port Lavaca-Point Comfort, Texas, and an interconnecting pipeline.  Excelerate’s motion can be found here, and the complete docket for the Project can be found on eLibrary under Docket No. CP14-71.
