Senators Hoeven, McCain, Murkowski, and Barrasso Introduce the North Atlantic Energy Security Act

Senators John Hoeven (R-N.D.), John McCain (R-Ariz.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Ala.) and John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) introduced The North Atlantic Energy Security Act, a bill that aims to streamline the approval process for liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and infrastructure development projects. The law would reform the leasing process for onshore oil and natural gas projects on federal lands and reform the process for energy permitting. It would also set clear rules for the development of U.S. oil shale resources and allow Internet-based auctions in an effort to update the bidding process for oil and natural gas leases.
