Magnolia LNG Files Formal FERC Application for Lake Charles LNG Export Terminal

Yesterday, Magnolia LNG, LLC filed a formal application with FERC to construct and operate four LNG liquefaction trains, each with a nominal capacity to produce 2.0 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG (8.0 mtpa total), and LNG export facilities at a proposed site near Lake Charles, La.  The application states that the LNG would be loaded onto (1) LNG carriers for export overseas; (2) LNG carriers and barges for domestic marine distribution to other U.S. states and territories and the possibility of LNG bunkering; and (3) LNG trucks for road distribution to LNG refueling stations in Louisiana and surrounding states.  Kinder Morgan Louisiana Pipeline is proposed to supply the gas for the liquefaction operations.  Magnolia’s application can be found here, and the complete docket for the project can be found on eLibrary under Docket No. CP14-347.
