White House: LNG Exports to Ukraine Up to DOE

Reuters reports that in response to a question on whether the United States would expedite exports of LNG to Ukraine, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney stated today that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has authority over LNG exports and that “DOE will continue to make [LNG export] public interest determinations on a case-by-case basis considering economic, energy security, environmental and geopolitical impacts among other factors.”
