Business Wire reports that the Hawaii Public Service Commission has approved Hawaii Gas’s request for approval to receive ISO containers of LNG shipped from the U.S. West Coast to Oahu and use it as a backup fuel source for Hawaii Gas’s synthetic natural gas operations. The LNG will be regasified and introduced into the company’s distribution pipelines in Honolulu using a mobile vaporization unit.
