Goldboro LNG Export Terminal Receives Environmental Approval

The Nova Scotia Environmental Assessment Review Panel issued a report recommending that the Nova Scotia Environment Minister approve, subject to the terms and conditions recommended by the panel, Pieridae Energy (Canada) Ltd.’s proposed Goldboro LNG export terminal in Guysborough County.  The report states that “the panel believes that the risk that the project poses to the environment is largely manageable, and that the project’s ability to contribute to economic prosperity for Guysborough Country and Nova Scotia as a whole is extremely significant.”  According to a CBCNews report, the Minister has until March 24 to issue a decision on the project.
