Canada’s National Energy Board Approves Four LNG Export Licenses

The Canadian National Energy Board (NEB) has approved LNG export licenses for Prince Rupert LNG Exports Ltd., Pacific NorthWest LNG Ltd., WCC LNG Ltd., and Woodfibre LNG Export Pte. Ltd.  Read more in the press release.  The Honourable Joe Oliver, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, issued a statement following the NEB decisions stating that issuance of the licenses is subject to Federal Cabinet approval, adding that “the Harper Government supports energy projects that will create jobs and generate economic growth in Canada for future generations,” and the “government will only allow energy projects to proceed if they are found to be safe for Canadians after an independent, science-based environmental and regulatory review.”
