Triton LNG Files for National Energy Board Export Authority

The Globe and Mail reports that Triton LNG LP, a joint venture between AltaGas Ltd. and Japanese oil company Idemitsu Kosan Co. Ltd., filed an application with Canada’s National Energy Board for authority to export over a 25-year term up to 115 Bcf /year of LNG from a floating liquefaction storage and offloading (FLSO) vessel to be located in the Kitimat or Prince Rupert areas. The article states that depending on the outcome of a feasibility study, LNG exports could begin as early as 2017.
