Report: B.C. Must Move Quickly to Capture Share of Asian LNG Market

A new report by Canada West Foundation concludes that while LNG exports from British Columbia (B.C.) to Asia provide a great economic opportunity for the province, the government and industry must move “quickly and aggressively to beat out the competition and capture market share in Asia.” The report warns that competition among projects and other suppliers will put downward pressure on revenues and the number of successful projects. Therefore, the report suggests that “the B.C. government should be prepared for a more modest natural gas boom,” in case projected production and revenues grow slower than some anticipate. The report can be found here. Read more in The Globe and Mail article.
