Magnolia LNG Files for DOE Authority to Export LNG to Non-FTA Nations

Magnolia LNG announced that it filed an application with the U.S. Department of Energy to export up to 8 million tonnes per year (mtpy) of LNG from its proposed LNG terminal at Lake Charles, La. to nations without a Free Trade Agreement with the United States.  Magnolia also filed for DOE authority to export an additional 4 mtpy of LNG to FTA nations to supplement the 4 mtpy already authorized by DOE. Magnolia stated that the new applications will not affect the timing of the financial close on the Magnolia Phase I development for 4 mtpy of LNG exports, which is on schedule for the first half of 2015.
