Construction Begins on Haiti LNG Import Terminal

Haiti Libre reports that construction of a $123 million LNG import terminal has begun near Titanyen, Haiti. A pipeline also will be constructed from the terminal to serve the Port au Prince industrial area. The project sponsors are Haytrac Power and Gas S.A., ANDINAT, PROMIGAZ and GASENER. The project is intended to reduce the environmental pollution caused by the use of charcoal as a fuel source for the island.
