BG Group Files for NEB LNG Export License/Seeks Partners for LNG Project

The Financial Post reports that BG Group PLC (BG) has applied to Canada’s National Energy Board to export up to 21.6 million tonnes of LNG per year (2.9 Bcf/day) from its proposed LNG terminal on Ridley Island near Prince Rupert, British Columbia. According to the report, BG is seeking partners for the terminal project and is expecting to own less than 50% in the facility, which is projected to begin production in 2020. A final investment decision for the project is not expected before 2016.
