Sierra Club, Catskill Citizens for Safe Energy, Center for Biological Diversity, Delaware Riverkeeper Network, Earthworks, Environment America, Friends of the Earth, Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper, and Rogue Riverkeeper filed a joint petition with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) requesting DOE to promulgate new regulations or guidance defining the process for considering LNG export applications. The groups allege that the current guidelines are outdated, were designed to address gas imports, and are ill-suited for assessing issues raised by large-scale LNG export proposals.
