Sabine Pass Requests Additional Export Authority and Initiates Pre-filing Procedures for Terminal Expansion

Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC (SPL) and affiliates filed a request that FERC initiate the pre-filing environmental review process for a proposed expansion of the existing Sabine Pass LNG Terminal in Cameron Parish, La. and interconnected pipeline. SPL proposes to construct two liquefaction trains (Trains 5 and 6) for additional liquefaction capacity of 1.3 Bcf/day. SPL’s application can be found on eLibrary under Docket No. PF13-8.

SPL also filed an application at the U.S. Department of Energy to export 1.1 Bcf/day of LNG pursuant to an LNG purchase agreement between SPL, as seller, and Total Gas & Power North America, Inc., as buyer, to nations with and without a Free Trade Agreement with the United States.
