Magnolia LNG Files to Initiate Pre-filing Procedures

Magnolia LNG, LLC (Magnolia), a subsidiary of Australian company Liquefied Natural Gas Limited, filed a request that FERC initiate pre-filing environmental review of the proposed Magnolia Liquefied Natural Gas Project. Magnolia proposes to build, own, and operate an 8 million tons per year LNG facility in the Port of Lake Charles, La. to receive domestically sourced natural gas for liquefaction and (i) exportation overseas, (ii) domestic marine distribution, or (iii) delivery to truck fueling stations in the region. Magnolia’s request can be found on eLibrary under Docket No. PF13-9.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently granted authorization to Magnolia to export LNG from its proposed terminal to nations with a Free Trade Agreement with the United States. Documents related to Magnolia’s DOE authorization can be found on DOE’s website under Docket No. 12-183-LNG.
