Freeport-McMoRan Energy Files at DOE for LNG Export Authority

Freeport-McMoRan Energy LLC (FME) filed an application at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to export 24 million tons of LNG per year (approximately 1.248 trillion Btu) over a thirty-year period. FME seeks authority to export the LNG from its proposed Main Pass Energy Hub™ Deepwater Port in offshore Louisiana to nations with and without a Free Trade Agreement with the United States.
