Cheniere Energy Official Eyes South America for US LNG Exports

Speaking at a conference this week, Cheniere Energy CEO Charif Souki said that South America, rather than Asia, is the better market for US LNG exports, where LNG could displace diesel as the fuel for power generation.  Read more in Platts LNG Daily [subscription required].

On a related note, Upstream reported that Souki expects Cheniere to file its FERC application to construct an LNG export facility at Corpus Christi, Texas, in July or August 2012.
