BG and Cheniere Sign Agreement to Export U.S. Domestic Natural Gas

Cheniere Energy and BG Group have signed an agreement to export 3.5 million tons of LNG via the Sabine Pass LNG facility for a term of 20 years. Speaking with Reuters, Cheniere CEO Charif Souki said that the deal could help pave the way for financing for the LNG liquefaction project and that the project could be ready to begin operations by 2015.

Separately, FERC requested that Cheniere submit public versions of its LNG hazard analyses that previously were filed with the Commission as confidential and non-public. FERC’s request is available in the FERC eLibrary under Docket No. CP11-72.
