Massachusetts Congressional Delegation Asks FERC for Response to Request to Rescind Approval for Weaver’s Cove

Last month four members of Massachusetts’ congressional delegation — Sens. John Kerry (D) and Scott Brown (R) and Reps. Barney Frank (D) and James McGovern —  sent a letter to FERC requesting  a formal response to a request by two Massachusetts residents that the Commission rescind its previous approval of the Weaver’s Cove LNG import project. The request states that in light of the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s new guidance for exclusion zones surrounding an LNG facility, the method used by Weaver’s Cove Energy to calculate its exclusion zones is no longer acceptable. The letter is available in the FERC eLibrary under Docket No. CP04-36.
