Port Officials Seek Federal Funding for Cargo Dock Berth Proposed for Jordan Cove LNG Site

Officials with the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay have filed an application to receive a Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery grant for $45.3 million to build a cargo dock berth at the west end of the slip dock at the planned Jordan Cove LNG facility. The World (Coos Bay, Ore.) reports that building the dock during construction of the slip for LNG vessels will preclude the need for certain waterway permits that would be required if the dock is built once the slip is flooded.
