FERC Seeks Clarification on Status of Jordan Cove LNG’s Commercial Arrangements

FERC has requested clarification regarding the status of the commercial arrangements that have been established by Jordan Cove Energy Project. Recently, Jordan Cove requested that FERC make a decision on the company’s application to construct an LNG import terminal and associated pipeline, arguing that the project is in “direct competition” with others planned for the Pacific coast of North America. The World (Coos Bay, Ore.) reports that Jordan Cove meant that the company is still competing with other terminals in the Pacific Basin for LNG supplies and that the company plans to file a response to FERC’s inquiry this week. FERC’s letter seeking clarification is available in the eLibrary under Docket No. CP07-441.
